Implementation of a 600m aerial computer network to connect industrial surveillance cameras

Sometimes distances are too large to establish a computer network via conventional channels (optical fiber or UTP / FTP network cabling). One of the solutions is to establish an airlift to connect a remote site. Here we have set up a 600m overhead bridge at a customer to connect surveillance cameras to the main site. As for the cameras, one has a 180 ° lens allowing it to have a constant view on part of the site, the other is a dome camera, zoom driven by the first one. The customer has a so-called intelligent surveillance solution that not only allows him to record videos in case of passage on sensitive areas also set to generate alerts in case of intrusion on the site.

Karibou Informatique has taken over the entire project. We supply the cameras (Mobotix and Axis) as well as the implementation (programming and installation). We take care of placement, wiring, etc. Turnkey delivery.

The network set up here is simple (only one network) but the device would have made it possible to use several VLANs for example to convey the IP packets of the camera network and those of the automation network.
